Tom Comerford's Welcome to Ireland Tour
Friday 2nd November
Depart U.S.A. for Ireland.
Saturday 3rd November
Arrive Dublin airport meet your host Tom Comerford, and driver/guide Michael Nolan, and head south to Waterford for check-in at the Granville hotel. Short afternoon drive along the south coast to include the fishing villages of Dunmore East, and Passage East, with beautiful views along theestuary and Waterford Harbouras you return to your hotel. Try to get some rest before the meet and greet reception followed by dinner, because tonight, Tom will be performing in the oldest pub in Waterford City, T&H Doolans.
Sunday 4th November
Depart along the south coast through Dungarvan, Youghal, to the Jameson Distillery at Middleton for a tour and whiskey tasting. Continue to Cobh (last port of call for the Titanic). Afternoon visit to the village of Blarney where you will have free time to shop in the woollen mills and kiss the Blarney stone. Late afternoon arrival into Killarney for dinner and overnight at the old world Arbutus hotel, where we will be enjoying the hospitality ofthe Buckley family. Tonight, enjoy the pubs and charm,of Killarney.
Monday 5th November
Day tour on the spectacular Dingle peninsula, breath-taking scenery, and a sense ofharking back to past times in Ireland. Return to Killarney at our leisure, for an evening of entertainment with Tom.
Tuesday 6th November
Head north through Tralee, Listowel, and on to Tarbertwhere we cross the Shannon River by ferry into County Clare and follow the Atlantic drive to the Cliffs of Moher and the unusual landscape of the " Burren" region, enroute to Galway for overnight.
Wednesday 7th November
Short tour along Galway Bay (ask Tom to sing the song at some point!) to Spiddle and across the bog road to Moycullen, and on to Connemara Marble. Here,we can tour the factory facility, and experience the processing of the local green Connemara marble at the workshop. Where you can purchase original Irish made gifts at very good value. Return to Galway with a free afternoon to explore a very exciting city. The location of our hotel is perfect for sightseeing or/and enjoying the local hostelries.
Thursday 8th November
Today we leaveGalway behind, and we travel the width of Ireland, from West to East. Thanks to the new highway network, this is now a very comfortable and pleasant road trip, and our arrival in Dublin at the family owned Davenport Hotel in mid-afternoon, should mean that everyone will enjoy some time for exploring, or indeed relaxing in the sumptuous surroundings of the President's Bar. Enjoy an Irish Coffee or a pint of Guinness, whilst watching the hustle and bustle of everyday life in Dublin, go by.
Friday 9th November
Free day to do your own thing, with personal sightseeing visits, shopping in Grafton Street, and relaxing. Whether you want to visit the Guinness Brewery, the Book of Kells, whatever you decide, today is your chance to do it. Tom and Michael will be on hand to advise, should their expertise be required! This evening enjoy the grand finale with dinner and entertainment, say our goodbyes,re-live the memories of the past week, and look forward to doing it all over again some time.
Saturday 10th November
Depart to Dublin airport for your return flight home.
