Friday 5th November
Depart U.S.A. for Ireland.
Saturday 6th November
Arrive at Dublin airport, meet Tom and your driver-guide. Transfer to downtown Dublin for check-in. Enjoy a tour of the capitals highlights. This afternoon, relax before your welcome dinner and get to know your fellow travellers. Maybe tonight explore the Dublin city nightlife.
Sunday 7th November
Drive though the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains to the 6th century monastic settlement at Glendalough for a visit, continue south through Avoca village, the location for TV’s “Ballykissangel”. Time for a visit of the village and the famous Avoca handweavers. Late afternoon arrival into the medieval city of Kilkenny for overnight. Our hotel is centrally located and there are lots of fine hostelries within walking distance.
Monday 8th November
Maybe this morning a walking tour of historic Kilkenny with a local historian? Today we will follow in the footsteps of JFK. Driving to the County of Wexford, we will see the original homestead of the Kennedy family. It is still a working farm, and descendants of the family still live there. We will also visit the New Ross quayside, from where Patrick Kennedy sailed for Boston in 1848, and we can also check out the Dunbrody sailing ship, which is an exact replica of the vessel upon which he sailed. Overnight in Wexford.
Tuesday 9th November
Early departure from Rosslare Harbour by ferry into the port of Pembroke, South Wales then arrive to Carmarthen for overnight and meet our hosts for the next two evenings. This is a place where you will enjoy music, fun and song, meet new friends and gather wonderful memories.
Wednesday 10th November
Our Welsh odyssey continues, we'll enjoy a day of touring at our leisure. The scenery in Wales is stunning. Rolling hills and valleys, friendly pubs and tea shops, and the curious, friendly Welsh people are a joy to meet. They also like to party, so be prepared for another late night tonight!!
Thursday 11th November
This is a special days journey heading north through the central national parks of Wales and under Snowdonia mountain the highest in the Country. Our overnight will be in north Wales at the village of Betws-y-Coed as tomorrow we take the ferry across the Irish sea to Dublin.
Friday 12th November
Late morning departure for ferry crossing from Holyhead to Dublin city for your last evening of fun in Ireland. Special farewell dinner tonight, and for the brave hearted a final chance to explore the famed nightlife of Dublin city.
Saturday 13th November
Airport transfers this morning. All too soon our Celtic Connections tour has come to an end. Looking forward to 2011.
