Text Box: April 29th Tuesday - Powerscourt House & Gardens & Dunlaoighre A journey to the picturesque village of Enniskerry this morning and to estate of Powerscourt. Originally an Anglo– Norman strong hold in the 13th century which then over the centuries changed to its present Palladian style Mansion with the thanks of the German architect Richard Castles. Destroyed by fire in 1974 and now faithfully being restore. But what sets the location apart are the beautiful gardens surrounding the house. Laid out in two periods in the Robertson Italianate style and then on the arrival of the Viscount the addition of the Japanese Gardens. From here we travel to the port town of Dun Laoighre on the east coast of County Dublin. Free time to stroll the streets maybe catch up on some shopping or stroll along the promenade and watch the shipping and the yachting entering and leaving the harbour into the Irish Sea. Departs Druids Glen Hotel approx 10:00am Returns to Druids Glen approx 4:00pm Cost: €38 Euro per person (based on a minimum of 12 persons) Not Included: Entrance fees to Powerscourt House & Gardens @ €8 Lunch will be at your own expense Kilkenny - Glendalough - Dublin
