B&B Self Drive Program 2010

Terry Flynn ToursTerry Flynn Tours self drive program is designed for those who like to travel un-escorted, at their own pace, and who enjoy staying in local homes. There is no better way to meet Irish people. With this program you can plan your own itinerary or, if you would like help or suggestions, we are here to assist you with our years of experience.

It’s really quite simple. When you have reserved your air, call us to make arrangements for you in Ireland. Before you depart the US you will receive a pack of materials including your car and accommodation vouchers, map and directories. Once you arrive in Ireland, pick up your waiting car, and you're already on your way on a carefree self-drive vacation.

Using the Town and Country Homes and Farmhouse B&B directory, you have a choice of over 1,200 places to stay throughout the country. The B&B vouchers we provide include room and private bath (ensuite), along with a full Irish breakfast daily.

You can also mix and match. We can pre-book a hotel for you if you wish to vary accommodations, or pamper yourself and include a night or two in a castle. Irish castles range from moderate to deluxe and we can suggest and pre-book them for you.

Consider adding a Medieval Banquet to your vacation. These are located in the Shannon area (Bunratty Castle or Knappogue) and near Galway (Dunguaire Castle).
Any supplements or upgrades are subject to availability.

Self Drive Programs include:
  • Car rental includes unlimited mileage, third party insurance, theft protection and VAT.
     
  • Accommodation vouchers for each nights stay in ensuite (private bath) rooms at Bed & Breakfast.

  • First night pre-booked (additional nights reserved at $5 per booking).

  • "Heritage Island" booklet (1 per couple) featuring reductions on entrance fees to many historical sites.

NOT INCLUDED:
Fuel, CDW Insurance, CDW Excess (deductible)**, and location charges.
Location charges are applicable to car pickups at all airports, city centre depots and ferry port terminals and paid directly to the car hire company.

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) Insurance can be purchased from the car hire company on arrival in Ireland, or through Terry Flynn Tours at the time of booking at $12.00 per day (a savings of over 40% off the regular price).
 
**CDW Excess (deductible):
There is still a deductible when CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance has been purchased.  Clients must leave a credit card deposit of 1,000Euro/1,500Euro to cover the deductible or purchase optional insurance to reduce the deductible to 100Euro.  The cost of this optional insurance to cover the excess (deductible) is:  Group A-D vehicle, 14Euro/day; Group E2-Z vehicle 18Euro/day.  You can purchase additional optional insurance from the car hire company.

REQUIREMENTS:

Terry Flynn ToursPrices are based on a minimum stay of six nights. There are no refunds for unused vouchers. Cost for shorter stays are available on request. Vouchers are only good for date of service and are non transferable.
Mimimum driving age 21 years, maximum 75 years.
  21-23 surcharge 40Euro/day plus CDW (Group A/C & F/F2 only)
  71-75 surcharge 15Euro/day plus CDW)
 
Must have full clean driving license for at least two years.

Flight details are important to us at the time of booking so as to ensure that all elements of your vacation are in place for your arrival in Ireland that first day.

 

 

SPECIAL NOTE:

Terry Flynn ToursBed & Breakfast accommodation in Dublin is now extremely difficult to find. You may need to upgrade to a non voucher accepting accommodation or city centre hotel at an additional cost.

As we are an Irish based company all of our credit card charges in dollars are charged in Ireland. Most card companies may have a fee for international transactions and we recommend you check with them. 

During the months of June, July, August and September, Dublin city and county B&Bs charge an additional supplement of €7.50 (Euro) per room which is payable directly to the homeowner and is NOT included in the voucher.

Please note that there are periods in Dublin for 2010 where Hotels and B&Bs will be virtually impossible to achieve.

We will book your first nights accommodation (excludes Dublin) and issue vouchers to you for the duration of your stay. You can remain in any one location for as many nights as you wish (based on availability). We suggest that when you arrive at your first location, you decide where you would like to stay the following night and call ahead to reserve a room. This is important, especially in the major towns and cities over peak times, weekends and public holidays.
